Bass Player, Production Consultant, Audio Engineer
I grew up on 70's AM pop radio. Artists like The Raspberries, The Buckinghams, and The Carpenters were everything to me (and still kind of are). Then at age 11 my friends and I first heard KISS, everything changed.
I bought my first bass at age 13, but at the time I was much more interested in skateboarding. It wasn't until the start of my Sophomore year in high school that I began taking it seriously. At the behest of my friend (and amazing guitar player), Mundo, I joined the schools "Pop-Rock Ensemble" and started playing covers at PTA meetings. Later that year I bought a used Rickenbacker 4001 and a copy of Moving Pictures, again, everything changed.
In 1983 I moved to Seattle and met a lot of interesting people, many of them being great musicians. Some went on to become life long friends and continue to influence who I am and how I play.
During the late 90’s I decided to go to college and study Music Theory and Audio Engineering, finishing three year courses in both. This gave me a completely new perspective, and was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
In 2006 I became one of the founding members of Crackle & Pop!, a very cool studio in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. I was an owning partner and engineer there through the first 8 years of operation.
Over the years I've performed, recorded with, engineered, and helped produce many different artists and bands. I’ve strived to be present in each situation, and learn as much as I could during the process.
This last few years have been very productive and rewarding, working with friends both new and old. I am grateful for these ever expanding musical alliances, they keep me both inspired and creatively challenged.
I am currently doing session work, production assistance, some mixing, and the occasional bit of freelance engineering, along with actively playing in a couple different projects.
Check my Music page for some samples from projects I have worked on in the last few years.
